BIOGRAPHY
Cheryl Molnar is a collage artist living and working in New York City. She received a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA from Pratt Institute. Her collage-paintings depict the improbable landscapes of memory as re-imagined environments, inspiring us to remember the places we do not wish to forget, as we contend with the destructive impact of gentrification, displacement and climate change. Her work has been exhibited across the U.S. including Smack Mellon in New York, The University of Arizona, The Islip Art Museum on Long Island and the General Electric Headquarters in CT. She recently completed a permanent ceramic tile installation for PS19Q in Queens, a commission from Percent for Art and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs. She is currently a member artist at the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts. Other art residencies include the Winter Workspace program at Wave Hill, Smack Mellon, Weir Farm Art Center and Cooper Union. Notable collections featuring her work include Cantor Fitzgerald and Microsoft.
