C24 Gallery is pleased to present a solo exhibition of new works by New Orleans-based painter, Regina Scully.
Regina Scully's paintings create micro universes of cities and spaces that resonate between the familiar and the unknown. Each painting explores and distorts perspectives of space, and suggestive fragments of objects and phenomena. Her paintings and works on paper become personalized dreamscapes for the viewer, with enveloping, rhythmic labyrinths to enter and travel through, wherein the viewer experiences thoughts and visions through association and memory.
Born in Norfolk, Virginia, Scully received her B.F.A. in Painting from Rhode Island School of Design and her M.F.A. in Painting from University of New Orleans. Scully’s paintings are in private and public collections including the Microsoft Art Collection, (2010, 2013), the Frederick R. Weisman Art Foundation Collection, the Capital One Art Collection, and the New Orleans Museum of Art (2014, 2016). A catalog of recent paintings and works on paper with an accompanying essay by Dan Cameron was published in summer, 2015.
