New York, NY (April 5, 2016)- C24 Gallery is pleased to present Hero and Leander which marks the first solo exhibition of the artist, Carole Feuerman, with C24 Gallery. The exhibition will feature Feuerman's newest works of sculptures and paintings including "Leda and the Swan" and "Durga Ma" along with a monumental sculpture in the gallery's 20 foot atrium. The exhibition will be on view May 6, 2016 through June 25, 2016, with an opening reception Friday May 6th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
Carole A. Feuerman is a pioneering figure in the world of hyper-realistic art, as well as her new approaches to sculpture with painted bronze pieces for the outdoors and in water. Feuerman works in both miniature and monumental size sculptures. Pushing the boundaries of physics, her "Double Diver" is an innovative technique that extends into the air 40 feet supported by two-inch wrists. Included in numerous notable biennales and public collections, she continues to push the boundaries of sculpture. Her work is in the collections of his majesty the Emperor of Japan, Mr. William & Hillary Clinton, Norman Brahman, Caldic Collection, Ariella Wertheimer, and Malcolm Forbes. She has taught, and given workshops at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Solomon Guggenheim Museum, Columbia University, and Grounds for Sculpture.
C24 Gallery is based in New York City and was established in 2011 with a commitment to showcasing groundbreaking contemporary art. The gallery represents artists working in all mediums, who have often achieved critical acclaim and challenge the mediums within which they work. The newly constructed space opened in December 2015 and resides in a stunning new building on West 24th street, boasting 5,00 square feet on two floors with an atrium rising twenty one feet adorned with a skylight.
